Continuum of Care
Therapeutic day programs like PHP’s and IOP’s are excellent continuing care options for teens. PHPs are typical options for stepping up from traditional outpatient individual therapy, or stepping down from a Residential Treatment Center (RTC), inpatient hospitalization, or after emergency room visits. IOP’s are a natural next step after completing a PHP.

Academics
It is important that Aerie PHP participants do not fall too far behind in their academics while receiving the therapeutic support they need. Therefore, participants have an hour of academic time per day facilitated and supported by Support Staff. Additionally, many participants have challenges related to school that makes it critical to develop and practice skills to prepare for a smooth transition back to their previous academic institution. The Aerie Learning Specialist communicates with and works with the student’s home schools to help participants stay on track, catch up, and eventually have a successful re-enrollment.
